Content Tracker

Here at Ingenta Connect, we work continually to improve our services and infrastructure in order to better serve our publishers.  One of the most important recent developments has just been implemented – a completely new Content Tracker.  Our updated Content Tracker will keep you fully up-to-date with when and where each issue has been sent, so you will know when content is being processed and when it will go live.

Content Tracker is username and password controlled.  Start at the Ingenta Connect homepage and enter your publisher username and password. Once at your Administration page, you will see several links. The top of the left most section is a link to the Content Tracker function. It enables you to monitor your content as it moves from receipt to loading and to view information on the distribution of your content to third party vendors.  Your Administration page provides access to other services including the ability to upload FastTrack articles or Supplementary Data items, if these services are purchased as part of your package. The Administration page also provides access to a revised and improved DOI generator if that is included as part of your package.

The Content Tracker is available regardless of how you submit your content to us – PDF, headers or full text XML. The initial view shows recently loaded content and links to further information about each item. Below the recently loaded section is an expandable section showing all your titles. You can link through to the title page to see all the issues that have been loaded into the Ingenta Connect service. Links in the issues table will take you to the issue itself on the Ingenta Connect Service or to view further information about distribution of that issue or volume.

Content Tracker can be accessed via the Track recently loaded content link under Manage Content.

The Content Tracker starting page. The table at the top of the page shows issues that have gone live on Ingenta Connect in the last 3 months. If you click on the Ingenta Connect logo while in Content Tracker, this is the page you will be returned to.

When you mouse-over History under the More Details column you will see a table showing the history of that issue.

When you click Publisher and Title Information, the table illustrated here is displayed. Clicking on a journal’s Title will give you loading information for that title. Clicking on the Short Code will take you to the journal page on Ingenta Connect. Clicking on either the publisher’s Name or publisher’s Short Code take you to the publisher page on Ingenta Connect.

This is what is displayed when you click on a journal’s Title in Content Tracker. It will show a list of all issues successfully loaded for that title, and if you mouse-over History under More Details you will see a table showing the history of that issue.

If you click on a Volume value you will see this table. Here you see all issues for that Title and Volume, which Party has received that issue’s data, when it was sent and what the zip name was.

If you click on an Issue value you will see this table. Here you see just that Issue, which Party has received that issue’s data, when it was sent and what the zip name was.
