We realise our responsibility and align our values with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals
As a worldwide company that supports and furthers the accessibility of scholarly research and knowledge to audiences around the world, Ingenta has a particular interest in aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. We recognize the interconnectedness of our global society as well as the interrelated nature of challenges like inequality, climate change, poverty, and justice. To show our commitment to positive change, we have signed up for the UNs’ Global Compact, a program for for-profit organizations to take action to further UN goals, including those related to human rights, labor, and corruption as well as environmental responsibility.
Ingenta meets this call with a commitment to conduct business according to these principles on a local, national, and global scale. By partnering with international non-governmental NGOs, including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and various not-for-profit scholarly publishing societies, we are advancing the open-access of content to underserved communities, including the Global South, and furthering compliance with recommendations making content accessible to persons with disabilities. We are also working to reduce corporate travel and increase remote work options on a permanent basis to lessen our carbon output as well as the strain on non-renewable energy resources. To promote gender equality, we actively train, recruit, and hire women for key leadership positions.
Making sure we at Ingenta play our part in the Global Compact requires action and reflection on both the individual and organizational levels. Our NGO and non-profit partners and clients both serve as inspiration and keep us accountable as we move together toward a more sustainable and equitable future.
